The meeting was held on July 20th at Honua Studios. Representatives from Habitat for Humanity Hawaii Island were our guest speakers. These included Dr. Ann Marie Muramoto, Vice President of the Board of Directors and Lisa Santana, M. Ed., Resource Development Coordinator. They presented information about the upcoming Blitz Build 2017, where the goal is to build ten homes in Kona in ten days.
The meeting was held on June 15th at Honua Studios. There were 12 in attendance, including a number of new faces. Local Kona attorney J. Porter DeVries was the guest speaker. Porter took some time to discuss the differences between LLCs and S-Corporations and the ramifications of organizing as each type of entity. He also talked about zoning considerations, as well as creating condominium property regimes. There were a number of questions from the group, including some of the laws regarding long-term rentals. Roy Dollwet presented a deal analysis of the first rental property he purchased, complete with rental income and capital appreciation.
